Each year as the summer draws to a close, the Billie Jean King Tennis Center in Queens, New York welcomes professional tennis players as well as hundreds of thousands of visitors to the U.S. Open Tennis Championships. This two-week event is the fourth and final of the Grand Slam tournaments and is watched by sports fans from around the world - both courtside and on television. A major company in the sports broadcasting industry provides power and set-design support at the Tennis Center, and they contracted with us here at Deal Rite to fabricate several rain curtains for use around the venue.
Rain curtains provide a creative visual backdrop and are lightweight and easy to transport to short-term events. For this project, we manufactured several rain curtains with various sizes using 20 gauge clear vinyl, a flexible and durable material that stands up to heavy use. To provide a uniform look, the rain curtains all featured a 4" white vinyl top, a grey bottom, integrated weight grommets, and a chain for stability.
